wow, updates

i've added some twitter and netflix stuff to the side of the blog.  i started listening to a lot of the who and they are awesome.

this /. post regarding python made me lol in sympathy.  not that i write C++ anymore, but i certainly have written more C++ than anything else up until now.

i've been very busy with work stuff, so i've been pretty rubbish at maintaining this blog.  my bad.  aside from the brief vacation back to WI for a weekend and a few days for ACEN in 2008, i haven't really taken any time off.  so far i think i've averaged exactly 3 sick days/year.  a coworker recently made an interesting comment that if he lived as close to work as i do, that he wouldn't be able to separate his work life from his homelife.

i am starting to agree.  i probably spent about 6-8 hours this weekend working.  and not even the normal something-broke/providing-support kind of work, but like working on a development project.  i really enjoy most all of what i do and i love my team, but many interactions with vendors and other teams in the hospital are extremely frustrating.

i am looking forward to a chance to get back to WI for obligatory, politically-motivated "training" about how to write SQL queries against an Oracle database (please don't ask).  i'm feeling very burnt out and the prospect of beers and friends in wisconsin is about all that's keeping me going at this point.  that and the who and bowie.

When are you going to be WI? I would enjoy spending some time with you if you don't have too much already planned. Give me a call.
